21 Savage revealed a bit about NBA Youngboy in another fascinating soundbite from his conversation with DJ Akademiks.
The excitement around the NBA YoungBoy phenomenon is unlike that of any other performer.
Whether it’s through memes, messages, or a shared desire to exclusively play YoungBoy YouTube videos aloud on an iPhone, YB fans’ devotion to their favourite rapper is admirable.
The 21-year-old rapper was battling Drake for the top place on the Billboard Top 200 after releasing his album Sincerely, Kentrell last Friday.
Sincerely, Kentrell, which has YoungBoy rapping all by himself (the project had no features), is clearly resonating with fans, but 21 Savage claims it isn’t resonating with other rappers.
Savage revealed that many rappers won’t collaborate with YoungBoy because of their devotion to Lil Durk in the same interview where he said he wouldn’t have worked with Kanye West on Donda because of his love to Drake.
“You don’t have to choose sides,” 21 said to Ak. “However, to be in the centre, you have to be a specific kind of artist.”
Despite prior collaborations between Durk and NBA YoungBoy, there have been rumours of rivalry between the two rappers.
Although no crystal-clear, precise reasons for the feud have surfaced, it is reasonably easy to figure out why Durk isn’t messing with YB based on key links and occurrences.
Quando Rondo is a close friend of YB’s.
Lul Tim is linked to Quando Rondo, and he is also accused of murdering King Von, Durk’s close buddy and Chicago brother.
