Anne Hathaway has revealed the name of her baby boy, Jack, as well as a pleasant surprise. The actress, 37, appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Monday to discuss her new film The Witches, confirming her baby’s name for the first time and announcing she was expecting him while shooting.
“I have a beautiful almost-11-month-old boy, but I was pregnant when I made The Witches, so technically he’s all over that performance,” Hathaway joked.
The Oscar winner recalled her first fitting with costume designer Joanna Johnston, in which she had to come up with a reason not to wear form-fitting outfits.
“She goes, ‘I really want you to have a really tight waist.’ And I had just found out that I was pregnant and I was like, ‘Mmm, no. No, I don’t think so. No,'” Hathaway said. “And she was like, ‘Well, why?’ And I was like, ‘Eh, you know, I just know myself.’ I’m scrambling for a reason.
“And I’m like, ‘I just know myself and I know that I won’t be as free. I won’t be as free if I’m constrained around my middle, so we just better make everything very loose.'”
Hathaway also discussed how life is at home with husband Adam Shulman and their two kids, with there being no sibling rivalry between Jack and his older brother, Jonathan Rosebanks, four.
“No coping, just love,” she told Ryan Seacrest of how Jonathan is adjusting to the family’s latest addition. “Now Jack’s big enough to wrestle with, and that’s brought a new element to their relationship that’s really cute.”
Hathaway announced her pregnancy in July, 2019, while also sharing her support for women struggling with infertility.
“It’s not for a movie…#2,” she captioned the selfie while debuting her baby bump.
“All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies,” the caption continued. “Sending you extra love.”
In December 2019, the actress and her husband appeared to have welcomed baby Jack into the world. The couple were photographed walking with an infant car seat covered by a blanket.
