Elon Musk appears to be a recurring theme in Grimes’ new song, “Player of Games.”
The 33-year-old singer sings about being in love with the “best gamer” throughout the song, which she wrote after her September breakup from SpaceX founder and PC gamer Elon Musk.
He’ll always love the game more than he loves me, she croons as she confesses her affection for the best player.
NDTV.com reports that before he was a millionaire at the age of 27, Elon Musk was making video games.
In January, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is now 50 years old, said that he is still a fan of the military science fiction computer game Halo.
At 0:36 in the lyric video, Grimes sings, “Sail away to the frigid vastness of space, even love couldn’t hold you in your place,” further fuelling speculation that her new song is about Musk.
According to sources, Musk had stated in September that his job was the key cause for his breakup with Grimes.
“It’s basically because my work at SpaceX and Tesla needs me to be primarily in Texas or going internationally and her employment is primarily in LA,” he remarked at the time.
X A-12, called “Baby X,” is the son of Grimes and Musk, who dated for three years and had one child together.
With his first ex-wife, novelist Justine Wilson, he has five other children—twins Xavier and Griffin, 17; and triplets Damian, Saxon, and Kai, 15.
Nevada, their first child, died at the age of 10 weeks from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Musk was formerly married to Talulah Riley, who starred in the HBO series “Westworld.”
Their first union took place in 2010, and after a divorce in 2012, they were married again in 2013. In 2016, they went through a second divorce.
