Hayes Grier, an internet influencer and former “Dancing With the Stars” competitor, was arrested in North Carolina for reportedly severely beating up a man and snatching his phone.
According to TMZ, the 21-year-old former Vine celebrity was arrested in Charlotte after a warrant was obtained to extradite him from his residence in Encino, California, to face accusations of common law robbery, felony conspiracy, and assault with severe bodily harm.
According to the site, the claimed attack left victim William Markolf with a damaged eyeball socket, brain damage, bruised ribs, back bleeding, and hearing loss.
Grier and an unnamed co-conspirator are also suspected of taking Markolf’s $1,200 phone, but there are no dependable details on when the violent event occurred.
Grier is scheduled to appear in front of a court first thing Monday morning, according to reports.
The North Carolina native has a sizable social media following and, at the age of 15, made it to Week 7 of “Dancing With the Stars” in 2015.
He’s also the younger brother of Carolina Panthers backup quarterback Will Grier.
