After the Barbz went on the attack, Jessie J has had a difficult day.
The British singer sat down for an interview and talked about working with Nicki Minaj on “Bang Bang,” revealing that the rapper heard the Ariana Grande-assisted tune and requested to be on it.
Minaj, on the other hand, was made aware of the news and turned to Twitter to explain that she never wanted to be featured, but that she was played the song and compensated for it.
The Barbz quickly started slamming Jessie J, and the singer awakened to tens of thousands of remarks, many of which were critical.
Jessie reacted with a series of jokes and gifs on Instagram, as well as a comprehensive explanation of the mistake.
The singer tweeted, “I respect you publicly being yourself @nickiminaj,” wrote the singer.
“So here I am being myself… It was made into a meme about 2 weeks ago. Is that what this is really about? And where this weird energy between us began? Or maybe it was when you used me as a stair rail at the AMAs. That was also funny af [crying laughing emoji]. If we can’t laugh in the lives we have been blessed with. What’s the point. It really isn’t that deep.”
She went on to say that she’s only ever given Nicki “love and appreciation” and that she considers herself “fortunate” to have Ariana and the rapper on the record.
“I’ll be the first to acknowledge that Bang Bang would not have been what it was without you guys,“ Jessie J said.
“I’m sorry I got the story wrong all these years, I was told you heard the song and wanted to be on it by someone clearly gassing me up at the label. (Bless them and my naive ass) Thank you for clarifying I was wrong.”Minaj
“I’ll always send you love and light, babies.”
