According to reports, Jesy Nelson is devastated by the deterioration of relations with her ex-bandmates.
The singer’s feud with Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirlwall has recently erupted after she released her first solo single since leaving the band.
Several social media users have accused the chart-topper of black fishing, a term that refers to someone who pretends to be black or mixed-race, after hearing Jesy’s new song.
When the leaked direct messages from Leigh-Anne to Instagram user No Hun surfaced, people started accusing her of berating Jesy behind her back.
NoHun had asked fans if they wanted him to do a routine to Jesy’s debut solo single, and Leigh-Anne had said no.
According to the leaked DMs, Leigh-Anne urged an influencer to defame Jesy in a video by calling her “horrible.”
In the wake of this, Little Mix fans attacked Jesy for allegedly laughing while Nicki Minaj launched into an irrational rant at Leigh-expense Anne’s during a live Instagram video.
Leigh-Anne was called a “clown” by Nicki, who also called her “jealous,” and Jesy was powerless to defend her ex-bandmate.
Jesy, who was born and raised in Essex, is upset about the backlash, according to a person familiar with the situation.
According to reports, the former X Factor contestant is upset that the feud between Little Mix and Jesy has turned into a “storyline” and considers it “a shame.”
What was supposed to be a joyous occasion has been marred by what feels like a personal attack on her part, a source told Metro.
In their words: “It’s starting to turn into a story about Little Mix vs Jesy, which is a shame because the band and Jesy have always stood for women supporting women.”
They also said, in response to the black fishing allegations, that “she’s devastated” and “understands she still has a lot of learning to do.”
In December of last year, Jesy Nelson announced her departure from the band.
When she broke the news to her fans, she admitted that being in the band had a negative impact on her “mental health.”
After announcing a month prior that she would be taking some time off from the group, she made the shocking announcement of her departure on her Instagram page.
She told her 7.3 million Twitter followers that she was leaving with a “heavy heart” after reflecting on the success of Little Mix since they won The X Factor in 2011.
“To all my Mixers, the past nine years in Little Mix have been the most incredible time of my life,” Jesy wrote on her personal website.
“We’ve accomplished things I didn’t think were conceivable. The first Brit Award we won, to the O2 shows that were sold out.”
“It means a lot to me that you’ve always been there to encourage and support me. I’ll never forget that.”
She went on to explain why she had decided to leave the band behind.
In recent times, being in the band has taken a toll on Jesy’s mental health, she explained. Being in a girl group puts so much pressure on me to perform and live up to everyone’s high expectations.
The time will come when we must reinvest in our own well-being rather than putting our energy into making others happy, and I believe that now is the perfect time to start this process.
“I need to spend time with the people I care about, doing activities that bring me joy. The next phase of my life is upon me, and while I have no idea what it will look like just yet, I hope you’ll still be there to support me.”
“I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone who helped make this possible. Our success would not be possible without everyone’s effort and dedication.”
All of our fans who came to see us perform, sang along with our songs, and supported us along the way should know how much I appreciate them. I could never have done this without them and couldn’t have done it in the same way.
“First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to Jade, Perrie, and Leigh-Anne for providing me with some of the most priceless memories of my life. I wish you the best of luck in achieving all of your goals and continuing to create music that people enjoy listening to. Favorite person: “Jesy.”
Little Mix’s remaining three members, Jade, Perrie, and Leigh-Anne, all released statements in response to Perrie’s comments.
“After an amazing nine years together, Jesy has decided to leave Little Mix,” they wrote on their website. It’s a difficult time for all of us, but we’re here for Jesy through it all.
“We adore her and agree that it is critical for her mental health and well-being that she does what is best for her. We’re still having a great time with Little Mix and we’re not ready for it to end yet.”
According to the X Factor-famous girl group, “We know that Jesy departing the group is going to be upsetting news for our fans.”
We adore you guys and are extremely appreciative of your loyalty and unwavering support for the entire team.
There will be a lot of you on the road with us, and that excites us.
Jade, Perrie, and Leigh-Anne send their love always.
