LeBron James had Nipsey Hussle close to his heart last night. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar donned a black t-shirt with the late rapper’s face on it as he sat on the sidelines for Thursday night’s game.

LeBron paid tribute to Hussle on social media the day after he was killed, writing;

“Just spoke with you the other day on text bro! Telling you how proud I was of you and how I was gone get you to more Laker games next season. Been A Stand Up dude from Day 1. May you rest in PARADISE Young King This One Hurts Big Time!”

Thursday was the team’s first home game since Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed in Los Angeles.

The Lakers held a moment of silence before the game, with the arena announcer saying, “Entrepreneur, rapper, and community activist Nipsey Hussle tragically passed away at the age of 33.

From his work within local schools, creating business in LA, and promoting better life choices, Nipsey had a lasting impact on bettering our entire Los Angeles community.

Please join the Warriors, the Lakers, and the entire NBA family in a moment of silence for the late Nipsey Hussle.”

Hussle was a native of Los Angeles and frequently attended Lakers games.
