UNBELIEVABLE: Young Dolph Shot & Killed Buying Cookies At Makeda’s

According to a source speaking to CN News, rapper and music executive Young Dolph was shot and killed outside a Memphis cookie store on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 17).

Fox13 Memphis reports that the shooting occurred outside Makeda’s Cookies, where police found Dolph and pronounced him dead at the scene. He was 36 years old at the time.

Adolph was born After releasing his debut album, King of Memphis, in 2016, Robert Thornton Jr., Dolph became an independent star in the Memphis rap scene.

He has since scored three top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, with his 2020 Rich Slave album peaking at No. 4.

In total, he sold 221,000 copies of his albums, which earned him a combined 2.6 million equivalent album units. A sampling of his on-demand US streams totalled 3.9 billion, according to MRC Data.

In 2016, O.T. Genasis’ “Cut It,” featuring Dolph, reached No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on Rap Airplay.

In 2017, Gucci Mane’s “Stunting Ain’t Nuthin,” featuring Slim Jxmmi and Dolph, reached No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. (No. 95). Atop the Rap Airplay chart last year, he had “RNB” with Megan Thee Stallion.

Dolph’s Paper Route Empire and the rise of his protege Key Glock were examples of his success as a businessman.

Dum and Dummer and Dum and Dummer 2 both made the Billboard 200’s top ten in 2019 and 2021, respectively. Glock’s Yellow Tape 2 debuted this week at No. 7 on the Billboard 200.

Despite his success as an artist and an executive, Dolph has come dangerously close to death on more than one occasion.

In Charlotte, North Carolina, in February 2017, more than 100 shots were fired at his vehicle. “100 Shots,” a song about the incident, was written and released by him after he emerged unscathed.

Soon after, Dolph was shot and wounded three more times in Los Angeles.
